To Do or to Have?

Life Experiences Make Us Happier Than New Possessions!
(CNN) — Should you spend funds on a Life Experience, such as Flying a Flight Simulator, or a new material possession? To "DO" or to "HAVE", that is the question! Results from a recent study showed that Life Experiences bring more happiness than new possessions.
Life Experiences generate positive memories that outlast the allure of a new material possession.
Over time, Experiences make people happier than possessions.
The initial joy of acquiring a new possession fades over time while Experiences continue to provide happiness through great memories long after the experience took place.
A study group answered questions about recent purchases they had made in the last three months with the intention of making themselves happy.
Those who wrote about Life Experience purchases showed a higher level of satisfaction at the time of the Experience and after the some time had passed. Researchers found that people feel a "greater sense of vitality" or of "being alive" during the Life Experience.
A sense of happiness and "community with others and getting closer to friends and family" may be one of the reasons why Life Experiences generate more happiness. Experiences involve other people, we fulfill their need for socializing and bonding while having these Experiences.
